Precepts For Life teaches God’s Word to families!

According to the Barna Group, only 9% of all American adults have a biblical worldview. And yet, many wonder why there is so much turmoil in our world. People are desperately looking for answers. Amidst the raging political debates about gun control, crime looms large in our land and no one talks much about the real problem: declining morality resulting from a society that has turned its back on God and His Truth. Each successive generation knows less and less about God and His ways

Our children are being sweep away in a corrupt society that uses every possible means to capture their minds. Each day, our children are being fed Satan’s lies through the media, the classroom, and sadly, even in many of our homes. It’s critical that we teach God’s inerrant, infallible Word to our families!

Lydia understands the importance of teaching her kids God’s Truth, beginning early as possible. She is doing a remarkable job teaching her children Inductive Bible Study. Lydia writes:

“I first found out about Kay Arthur when I was participating in the Bible Study, Faithful, Abundant, and True. When I saw Kay on the video, I just loved it! I was captivated by her honesty and her knowledge of God’s Word. Afterward, I was determined to find out more about Kay and Precept Ministries.

As I was navigating through Precept Ministries’ website, I found out about her Bible teaching program, Precepts For Life. I was hungry for truth and was so thankful and happy to be able to study from home and online. Because of the FREE Bible Study Guides and the wonderful programming resources, I’m always more than happy to donate to Precept.

Since I found these wonderful Precepts For Life Studies, I have taken Israel, Isaiah, Sermon on the Mount, Daniel, Revelation and Jeremiah. I am currently doing Philippians.

As a stay-at-home mom, these online studies are enormously helpful. I can study from the comfort of my home and include my kids. I really wanted my children to study with me and Precepts For Life is understandable even to my youngest child. I first found the series on Christmas. Afterward, we studied Sermon on the Mount, and Jeremiah Parts 1 & 2.

I do one PFL study alone and do a separate one with my two sons. Nathan is 5 years old and Brandon is 10. In one of these episodes, Kay mentioned that she liked to hear from the audience. After she said that, Nathan turned and said to me, ‘Mommy, tell Kay that I love her!’ and I smiled, ‘OK, I will.’

Both of my sons sit on either side of me and we listen to the Bible Study programs and take notes. We have the PFL Study Guides out and during a commercial or after the program I ask them questions. And we get to do this every day! What a joy!

“I was a practicing Muslim for 20 years and hostile to the gospel…”

I didn't grow up in a Christian home and I was a practicing Muslim for 20 years. I was hostile to the gospel; I denied Jesus Christ as God's Son, and Him being the only absolute way to having your sins forgiven. I was opposed to the prophet Isa (Jesus) being crucified to save sinners. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved me, even when I was dead in my trespasses, made me alive together with Christ (Eph. 2:4-5). I was saved in November 15, 2006. And I give Him all the glory!

For the first couple of years of being a Christian, I was afraid to read the Bible because I didn't know how to approach it. I was fearful I might interpret it wrong. I tried a couple of Bible reading plans, but I felt I couldn't grasp and memorize the Bible. I often relied on other Christians to tell me what the Bible said. It was frustrating, until I was doing research on how to study the Bible, and I came across the words “inductive study.” I then found Precept Ministries International's website. I was on the site for hours learning as much as I could! The next day I bought Kay Arthur's book, The New How to Study Your Bible. A week after that, I bought and started The New Inductive Study Series, which I absolutely love and enjoy so much!

The Inductive Study Method has changed how I read God's Word! My presuppositions have changed after studying each book thoroughly. There is an excitement when I approach the Word of God. I now look forward to studying the Bible because of the Inductive Study Method. Of course, God gets all the glory for this, and I would like to offer up thanksgiving to God for Kay Arthur and the whole Precept Ministries team. The English language is insufficient in expressing the joy I have. Precept Ministries has profoundly helped me in my walk with the Lord Jesus. It is in studying the Bible, and applying God's Word to all areas in my life that has made the difference. That was exactly what I was missing when I inadequately read the Bible (before Precept Ministries). I rejoice now and I want you all to rejoice with me!

Again, I praise our sovereign God for using Precept Ministries in my life and how it has had a tremendous impact in my life, my wife's life, and my son's life, (who is now just starting to study Wrong Way, Jonah).
